Claire & Bruce both gave us a taster Mindfulness practice session  – focusing on the experience of what was happening in the moment, the emotions, the sensations, the thoughts and the physical. Bruce explained that Mindfulness is not just a ‘nice to have’ tool at our disposal, that in this demanding world, with 1 in 4 people likely to experience a mental health issue every year, it is essential to keep our brains free from toxic stress.

It is important to build skillful mental habits and the more you practice the stronger you become.  Regular training will enable you to tune into your body and sense when something isn’t right.  This is your body telling you there is a problem and you need to listen to those early warnings.

Regular practice increases mental strength allowing you to bounce back quicker and having that space gives you the freedom to hold on for a moment and RESPOND rather REACT to a situation.

FACT: Mindfulness changes the shape of the brain in just 8 weeks!

The evening finished with a Q&A session and then an amazing selection of food & refreshments provided by MoFo and more networking with fellow Women in Wireless.

We would like to thank Claire & Bruce for this insight into Mindfulness & for demonstrating how it is not just good for us but good for business too!
