8-week MBSR Courses in Shoreham-By-Sea, West Sussex.
The 8–week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a course in simple meditation practices that can help us develop the skill of being present with our internal experience (physical sensations, thoughts and emotions) and with our external experience (interactions with others, actions in the world) and in the interplay between the two.
Mindfulness can help us become less stressed, happier, and more focused. It can also offer us greater awareness, choice and freedom towards how we respond to both the unpleasant and pleasant aspects of our lives and to its challenges.
Participants will be introduced to the key principles of living mindfully, and to some of the core meditation practices to help cultivate mindfulness in daily life. They will also leave with of ideas of ways that they can begin to develop their own practice.
Dates: Wed 23rd August 7pm to 9pm AND Monday 4th Sept 9.30am to 11.30am
All welcome! A chance to try Mindfulness Meditation or explore it a little deeper (perfect for anyone who has been using an App but would like to practice for longer and in a group). Also ideal if you are thinking of starting an 8 MBSR week course and would like to use this as at “taster” of what to expect on the full course. You are welcome to attend 1 session or both sessions.

FEE: £10 on the night. PLEASE note spaces will be allocated on a first come first serve basis so please arrive in good time to secure your place.
TIME : 7.30pm to 9.30pm
CONTENT: The course comprises eight weekly 2 hour sessions + a 4 hour Mindfulness “retreat” group practice at the end of the course*. (20 hours of teaching/group mindfulness practice in total).

Each session is a combination of Mindfulness Meditation practice, discussions and teaching. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences with the group, although this is on a purely invitational basis and is not essential. The course provides a safe and supportive environment for each person to explore their experience. Participants will be asked to complete a short questionnaire and participate in a short phone conversation with me before being accepted on to the course.
You are also strongly encouraged to do your own daily home practice (about 30 mins a day 6 days a week) in order for you to get the maximum benefit from the course.
FEE: The fee for the full course including Guided Meditations on MP3 and the Course Handbook is £199 + VAT payable in full in advance. Participants are encouraged to attend every session.

I qualified as a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Teacher with The Mindful Academy in Spain and am currently a member of the Teaching Team there in support of Philip Woodward (Bohdin) the Retreat Director.
